We are back online!

It has been quite a summer. First, let me apologize for not posting for several months. The only internet access we can get is satellite internet, and our modem was down for quite a while. Finally, it took two technicians who came out to the farm and ultimately discovered that the tech support had been trying to link us to the wrong satellite. Oh, the joys of modern technology.

In farm news, the baby chicks we got this spring are all grown up and are starting to lay eggs of their own. The eggs, called pullet eggs, are super teen tiny and cute. Soon, however, the eggs will become full size.

I am very excited to announce that Big Mama, a blue laced red Wyandotte, hatched seven babies a few weeks ago. She's taking wonderful care of them and it's so much fun to watch them scoot around the pasture. Camilla, a barred Rock, is currently sitting on eight eggs. They should hatch around September 2nd. I hope Camilla turns out to be as good a mom as Big Mama is. I'll try to get a photo up soon. Our internet connection isn't quite that good yet.
