Still Moulting...

If you buy our eggs, you probably have noticed that there are far fewer green and blue eggs in the carton. That's because our Easter Egger chickens moulted like crazy this year--worst moults I've ever seen. Look at this poor girl! All the little spiky thinks are pin feathers; new feathers growing in.

I've been trying to add photos to this post for almost a week now. For some reason, Blogger is freezing when I click the link to add the photo. I'm sorry that I can't put up the pic--it was a very funny picture of a forlorn hen so covered with pin feathers that she looks like a porcupine, but with a ruff of feathers around her neck. Suffice it to say, our EEs are moulting hard this year, and I don't expect to have lots of green and blue eggs for at least a few months. Sorry for the technical difficulties.
